55 Crabtree Building

This lab includes 28 NT machines. Each machine uses the most up-to-date version of Maya Unlimited, Studio Alias, Renderman, Photoshop, Illustrator, Painter, Animo and countless other programs. Room 55 is open 24 hours a day. The editing lab now consists of two dual monitor NT machines, each with video and DVD recording capabilities. Premier and Impression are the most commonly used editing software here. A Cannon XL-1 video camera is free to rent upon request. Please see the TA for more information.

75 Crabtree Building

The IRA is BYU’s virtual reality screening room. This 24 seat theater has the capability of displaying images in 3-D through the use of dual projectors and polarized glasses. The Auditorium is connected to Marylou, BYU’s Supercomputer, and several other stations throughout campus with fiber-optic cables. Industry and student presentations, advanced critiques, and virtual tours are all performed in the Interactive Reality Auditorium.
