How To Apply


Brent Adams The Animation major has a limited enrollment. We strongly advise you to have an alternative plan available so that you can continue to progress on the path of academic excellence in the event that you are not accepted.

Step #1

Declare pre-animation as your major. To do this stop by room D-444 of the HFAC (Harris Fine Arts Center) and ask ask the secretary to change your records to "Pre-animation." If you cannot stop by, email them at cfacadvise@byu.edu or call them at (801) 422-3777. You will need to provide the secretary with your name and student number. If you are asked what the animation code is, which is very unlikely, it is 488001.

1. Complete the following pre-application courses: TMA 102, VAAnim 160

2. Submit an application portfolio:

Freshman applications are due April 1 by 3 p.m. Application

Transfer students can apply April 1 or August 1 by 5 p.m Application

Mail or deliver applications to the College of Fine Arts and Communications
Advisement Center, D-444 HFAC, Provo, UT 84602.




Step #2

Upon acceptance, you will be admitted into the Animation BFA program.
