CEEn Student Named to All-MWC Swimming Team

Kirsty Ferrell, member of the BYU Swimming team and a CEEn student, was named to the All-MWC Team. Moreover, the BYU Women Swimming Team came out as Conference Champions, their eighth MWC title in 10 years. Kirsty comes from a family with great tradition not only in swimming but also in Civil Engineering. More.

CE Professor to Lead Environmental Institute

Prof. HotchkissRollin Hotchkiss has been elected by his peers to lead a specialty institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). In October, he will start his term as vice president of the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI). more

Dr. David Jensen on Sabbatical

Prof. Jensen Dr. David Jensen is on sabbatical for one year and he will be working on Rocky Mountain Composites' Spectrum S.40 aircraft. Dr. Jensen will oversee all aspect of Spectrum aircraft structures to ensure uniformity of engineering structural analysis and design methods.

Paper Receives National Award

Prof. HotchkissA paper co-authored by Dr. Hotchkiss and a former graduate student was selected as this year's Best Zone Paper by the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). more

CE Student Receives $20,000 Fellowship

Paul Dixon, a graduate student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at BYU received a $20,000 fellowship from the Portland Cement Association.more

CE Students win Scholarships

CE students successfully competed for $1000 scholarships from the American Concrete Institute (ACI). BYU students received four of the six scholarships given this year in the multi-state region.
