Scholarship Opportunity: AIAA

AIAA awards 30 scholarships annually to undergraduate students and 13 to graduate students in science or engineering programs related to AIAA's aerospace mission.

Enclosed is a brochure outlining the scholarship program, as well as an Eligibility Requirements document.

Important to know:

1. The applicant must be an active AIAA Student Member in good standing. This means that they must have submitted a membership application and paid their $20 dues to AIAA Headquarters, in addition to your chapter dues. Students can log in here to check their membership status.

2. Applicant must have a college grade point average of not less than the equivalent of a 3.300 on a 4.000 scale.

3. The online application process is being redesigned. It will be available here (http://www.aiaa.org/content.cfm?pageid=211) by the end of November.

4. The online application (including recommendations, essays, etc.) must be completed by 31 January 2010. The Official College Transcripts must also arrive at AIAA Headquarters by 31 January 2010.

Job Title: Engineering Intern

Essential Functions: Provides support to the Engineering staff, drafts engineering documents and utility maps for the public works department, writes reports and assists in answering questions, conducts research of special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have at least 30 hours of engineering coursework (primarily in civil engineering) and a working knowledge of Autocad software.

Salary $11.90/hr with no benefits. This is a part-time position available year round with flexible hours, not to exceed a yearly average of 20 hours per week.
