Alumni Survey

BYU Alumni:

Because your feedback is critical to our improvement and self assessment, we invite you to complete our Alumni Survey.

In recent years ABET, as well as our own internal review bodies, have placed a large emphasis on assessment of our programs in order to demonstrate that our learning outcomes and objectives are in line with our mission statement and the general body of knowledge for civil engineers. A continuous loop of assessment, evaluation, and improvement insures that our curriculum, teaching, and overall program maintain a high quality.

We must evaluate objective measures such as grades, proficiency in standard exams like the FE, and class performances; further, we have a need to assess subjective measures such as leadership, life long learning, teamwork, and student perceptions of our program. We find that during an exit interview-at the threshold of a career-student's perceptions may not be the most objective.

Therefore, we are conducting this alumni survey so that through the lens of time, you can assess the effectiveness of your BYU education and provide us with valuable feedback for our improvement. In this first attempt to conduct this assessment we are trying to survey all alumni, but our plan in the future is to conduct this assessment at 2, 5, and 10 years from graduation.

Your help is critical and very much appreciated and we ask that you please take 5-10 minutes to provide us with your feedback at this time.

Thank you,

BYU Civil and Environmental Engineering Faculty
