AICHE Regional Conference Results |
BYU swept the competition at the AIChE Regional Conference in Laramie, WY that took place in March. Jordan Wilcken's Chem-E-Car came in first place ($200) with 68.5 feet (the target distance was 73 feet). The 2nd place team's car from the University of Wyoming traveled 67.5 feet. It was a close race! The University of Utah came in 3rd. As for the paper competition (a misnomer- it's an oral presentation competition), Randy Shurtz came in 1st place ($200) and will represent the region at the national paper competition in November. Chris Broadbent came in 2nd place ($100). Again, the University of Utah came in 3rd place. We had 4 presenters from BYU. We received $500 of the available $650 in prize money. Please congratulate the students for a job well done. We brought 8 students to Laramie. |
