The Micron Technology Foundation has graciously awarded two full-tuition scholarships to our
department. In developing a scholarship program, Micron hopes to establish a relationship
with BYU as a strategic partner that will result in a new generation of employees who can
contribute to innovation and success in the microelectronics industry.
We encourage outstanding students with a planned graduation date in 2008 (April,
August or December) to apply. The scholarship will cover
tuition, and will be renewed in the second year for
qualified recipients.
Eligible candidates must be strong students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7 or better,
with preference given to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
Preference will also be given to students who are interested in pursuing a career in the
microelectronics industry.
Applicants must also demonstrate leadership ability as reflected in a short biography
with a clear statement of personal and professional goals, an academic resume that includes
service and leadership experiences, and a strong faculty recommendation.
Recipients must maintain full-time status (14 credit hours per semester) in the chemical
engineering program of study, and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
If you receive this award, you will be identified as a Micron Scholar.
