Wavetronix CEO David Arnold has been named the BYU Electrical and Computer Engineering honored alumnus for 2013. He will speak to the electrical and computer engineering department on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 11:00 a.m. in 456 MARB. He will discuss what it means to be an entrepreneurial engineer.
Wavetronix designs, manufactures and sells radar-based traffic detectors worldwide. Dr. Arnold began life as an Idaho farm boy and became an electrical engineer through study at Ricks College, Brigham Young University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a professor in the Electrical Engineering department at BYU for eight years before starting Wavetronix in 2000. His career as a radar engineer began by accepting a job opportunity at Boeing 30 years ago, and his training as an entrepreneur began at age six on the family farm.
