Dr. David Robinson’s first job after graduate school was with Segway, where he was part of the original development team for the Segway PT. At next Thursday’s college lecture, Robinson will share the lessons he learned in product development both at Segway and at his later position at Intuitive Surgical, developing the da Vinci Surgical Robot.
Robinson -- who grew up in Provo, graduated from BYU in mechanical engineering and had a father who taught mathematics here -- has a strong connection to Brigham Young University. After his completing his undergraduate degree at BYU, Robinson went on to attend MIT, where he received his master’s and Ph.D in mechanical engineering.
The lecture will be Thursday, April 4, at 11:00 a.m. in room 140 JSB.
