Engineering Week Activities and Events for Februrary 18-25, 2005

  Engineering week is here! Starting Tuesday, February 18 through Friday, February 25, the Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering and Technology will be celebrating Engineering Week, along with the rest of the nation. This will include many events that students are encouraged to participate in.

Engineering Week Dance – Friday, February 18 – FREE!

Engineering Week Displays – Tuesday, February 22

What: Showcase of Engineering and Technology clubs
When: Tuesday, February 22, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Movie Night – Wednesday, February 23 – FREE!

What: Come see the movie October Sky
When: Wednesday, February 23, 7:00 p.m.

AICHE Rootbeer and Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream

Balsa Wood Bridge Contest
When: Thursday, February 24, 12:00 p.m.
Where: Clyde Building step down lounge
Why: Win Money. BYU students could win up to $50. Non-BYU students could win up to $25. Pick up kits in the Civil Engineering Department office (368 CB). Cost of kits: $4.00. Extra sticks $1.50/11 and extra glue $1.00.
  

Engineering Week Banquet – Friday, February 25 - $7/couple!

What:

This is an opportunity for students to recognize faculty members for their hard work, enjoy a great meal, and hear from a great speaker. The speaker will be Daniel C. Peterson, Professor of Islamic Studies and Arabic and Associate Executive Director and co-director of Research for the Institute for the Study and Preservation of Ancient Religious Texts.

 

When:

Friday, February 25 th at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 per couple or $5 per student and can be purchased in the Dean's Office (270 CB) through Friday, February 18 th .
