Mr. Gottfredson, a partner in the Dallas office of Bain & Company, will deliver the college lecture this Thursday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. in 140 JSB. His remarks are entitled "Leadership: More than the Inspirational Speech."
Mr. Gottfredson is currently the global lead of Bain’s Complexity Management and Performance Improvement Diagnostic℠ areas, and is a leader in the firm’s Business Strategy, Airline, and Industrial Goods and Services practices. Mark’s client work is primarily focused on full potential programs, revenue enhancement, cost reduction, complexity management and major change programs.
His lecture will cover the various kinds of leadership roles students will experience, including roles in family, in work environments, in church callings, and generally influencing others. Putting these roles in context can help us prioritize areas of emphasis and to measure and calibrate the ambitions that we might have. Leadership skills can be learned, and we can all improve our ability to effectively influence and guide others in positive ways that will lead to success, reduced stress, strong relationships, and a sense of accomplishment throughout our lives. The discussion will cover some of Mr. Gottfredson’s key learnings over a long career that has covered multiple leadership opportunities.
