Engineering Study Abroad in France—A BYU/Georgia Tech Partnership

October 2007

We are pleased to announce an engineering and technology study abroad program at the GT Lorraine campus in Metz, France from May 12 to July 30, 2008.

  • This is a partnership between BYU and Georgia Tech
  • Students take Georgia Tech classes taught in English from Georgia Tech instructors (courses in CH En, CE En, ME En, EC En, CS, French, Art History, and Business are available)
  • Great way to make progress towards graduation while learning about global engineering
  • Both single and married student housing available

Description

Students are enrolled as GT students and receive GT credit. This credit is then transferred back to BYU. Not all courses will count to fulfill BYU requirements; transfer information is available in the document referenced below. It is anticipated that a stipend of $1,500 per student will be available from the Fulton College of Engineering and Technology.

Application Procedure

Before applying to the Georgia Tech program, please contact Catherine Bass (catherine.bass@gtl.gatech.edu, 404-894-6364). Then complete the Georgia Tech application online. The application deadline is 15 February 2008.

Once accepted into the Georgia Tech program, please contact Chelita Pate (chelita_pate@byu.edu, 801-422-3309) to assess courses and stipend from the Fulton College of Engineering and Technology.
