Setting up a FrontPage WebThis document describes the steps involved in setting up a personal web on the CAEDM network using FrontPage 2003. The WWW DirectoryBefore explaining how to set up your web, it will help to review how the files are set up on the CAEDM network. When your CAEDM account was established, a logical drive was created for your use. When you logon to CAEDM, this drive appears as the j: drive. On the j: drive, you have a directory called "www". This directory has special permissions set up so that the contents of the directory are visible over the internet. This is where you should put all of the web pages that you create. Creating Your WebTo create your FrontPage web, do the following:
At this point, you can begin editing your web using the tools described in the class lectures. Viewing Your Completed WebYour page is automatically "posted" and you should be able to browse to it. The address of the page will be http://www.et.byu.edu/~XXX where XXX is your CAEDM user name. For example, if my CAEDM login name is billybob, then my e-mail address is billybob@et.byu.edu and my home page address would be http://www.et.byu.edu/~billybob/.Editing Your WebTo edit your web at a later date:
