Trans-Jordan LandfillIn the fall of 2000, the CE En 540 class took a field trip to the Trans-Jordan Landfill in South Jordan. It was our good fortune that they happened to be right in the middle of a building a liner for a new cell at the landfill. We had the rare opportunity to witness many of the tasks involved in building and testing the landfill components. Since most future classes will not have such an opportunity, I decided to post a series of photos on the cell construction on this web site. Click on the thumbnails below for a larger image and explanation of the photo. Special thanks to Travis Jensen for providing the photos. Thanks also to Dwayne Woolley, the General Manager of the TransJordan landfill for hosting us on our visit. |
