ECEn 568 Microwave Remote Sensing Lecture and Assignment Schedule

Reading assignments will be given in class. To make the class most effective, please at least skim the reading assignments prior to class. You will be expected to read all of volume one and most of volume two of Ulaby, Fung and Moore by the end of the semester. Readings will be primarily from Ulaby, Fung, and Moore.

6 Oct: Chapter 5 (all). Key ideas: absorbtion properties, hydrometer properties and measurement scheme
13 Oct: Chapter 6 (first 3 sections) Key ideas: radiometer design and measurement, accuracy, Delta T, Delta Tg
17 Oct: Chapter 6 (rest) Key ideas: Delta T, Dicke switching, scanning geometry vs Delta T tradeoffs

Homework problems are optional and will not be graded. However, homework assignments will be good practice for the exams. (hint, hint)
