MP3 System on a Chip

Students participating in this senior project created a network-enabled MP3 player on a single FPGA device using the Xilinx Microblaze soft-processor and EDK development tools. This multi-disciplinary project involved the design of a complete computer system and integration of the following skills:
  • Computer Architecture
  • Network Interfacing
  • Real-Time Operating Systems
  • MP3 Decoding
  • Digital Design/VHDL
