Dr. Jay Christofferson |
March 2007
Jay Christofferson, professor in the School of Technology, received the Outstanding Educator Award from the National Association of Home Builders at the International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida.
This prestigious award recognizes and encourages high quality standards in teaching construction education. Educators are recognized for their voluntary extracurricular activities and activities with construction industry organizations as well as their construction experience and professional activities.
Dr. Christofferson is nationally known as one of NAHB’s best selling authors. He has over two dozen peer-reviewed publications relating to residential construction in circulation. Despite being a renowned author, he always finds time to guide students through BYU’s challenging Construction Management major. He has been a staunch supporter of the Utah Valley Home Builders Association for over 25 years, teaching classes and assisting to further the educational options of the Utah Valley HBA. Additionally, he’s instilled the importance of association membership to his students and when they complete his courses and his tutelage they are ready to take on leadership roles in the workforce.
