At this year's University Conference, BYU's most prestigious award went to Electrical and Computer Engineering professor David G. Long. Five other Fulton College faculty members were also honored.

Long received the Karl G. Maeser Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Award, BYU's highest faculty honor. The award is made possible by the Karl G. Maeser Scholarship Society. Recipients must demonstrate clear superiority in both scholarship and teaching.

Long, who is director of both the Microwave Earth Remote Sensing Laboratory and the BYU Center for Remote Sensing, will deliver the 2008 Karl G. Maeser Distinguished Faculty Lecture at a forum assembly scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

University President Cecil O. Samuelson honored outstanding faculty and staff members during the conference on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
