With more than 3,500 students in attendance, the Fall 2008 Engineering and Technology Career Fair was the largest in Fulton College history.

Students from the college, as well as math and science students from BYU, were invited to attend the event, held in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom. With news of a record-setting year in terms of company participants and numbers of recruiters, several local universities also sent students to participate in the event and meet with recruiters from 129 companies.

Nearly 60 of these companies arranged for interviews in the days following the event, resulting in 745 students being interviewed.

"I've had recruiters come back from BYU saying 'I wish we could hire them all'," said John Deroest, a supply chain analyst at Boeing in Seattle. "BYU's team-based learning environment makes its students a good match for Boeing because team projects are critical to us."

For more than a decade, the Fulton College has had two career fairs annually. Students will get another opportunity to meet recruiters and interview on Jan. 21, 2009.
