March 11-13, 2004Chemical Engineering students and AIChE Student Chapter advisors from 8 universities converged on the BYU campus March 11-13 for the AIChE Rocky Mountain Student Regional Conference. The conference was hosted by the BYU Student AIChE chapter, with leadership from chapter President Clinton Sheffield, Vice-President Nicholas Tsu, Secretary Doug Piekkola, Treasurer Dan Weber, and chapter advisor Prof. Bill Hecker.
Approximately 80 students and advisors attended the conference,
including representatives from Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University,
New Mexico Institute of Technology, South Dakota School of Mines, University of
Colorado, University of Utah, University of Wyoming, and BYU. Activities included
a student paper competition, a miniature car competition, workshops led by
industrial representatives, a banquet, and a day on the ski slopes.
