BYU IT Students Senior Capstone Projects

Brigham Young University students in the School of Technology's Information Technology program presented their senior capstone projects on Friday April 4th. Posters are on display on the third floor of the Crabtree Technology Building.

The projects included, Family Tree, Media Capture, Gears System Management, Gamers Club, ReligLaw.org, and Lockdown. More

Facility and Property Management professor assists in national school cleanliness study

A recent national study of college students by a Brigham Young University professor found a correlation between the cleanliness of a school's facilities and students' academic achievement. Titled “Cleanliness and Learning in Higher Education,” the study was based around five levels of clean identified in APPA's Custodial Staffing Guidelines for Educational Facilities.

Team of Manufacturing students installs power-generating merry-go-round in Ghana

Most children in Essam, Ghana, had never seen a merry-go-round until a Brigham Young University-led team arrived to install the curious device in their village. For more than 200 children, the installation day was memorable not only because they took a new toy for a joyous, dizzy spin — or two, or three — but also because, for the first time, they lit up their school with kid power.

Industrial Design Students work to improve wheelchairs

During the harsh winter weather earlier this year, one BYU student experienced frustration, insecurity and impatience while trying to get his way around in an electric wheelchair.

Riding electric wheelchairs for at least four hours a day for the first weeks of the previous winter semester was part of a research project Elmer Brent and 11 other students from BYU's industrial design program worked on.
