Students learn about leadership by filming Brigham Young’s story
A group of graduate students in the School of Technology were given the assignment to produce a video about leadership. They hired the LDS Motion Picture Studios and produced a film about Brigham Young. Read more here.

FPM student wins trip to Amsterdam
Sam Kelly will head out to Amsterdam this summer to attend a European conference for professional facility managers. Sam won the all-expenses paid trip by submitting research that he conducted in the field of facilities management which proposed a green recycling program for the Hyatt group of hotels. BYU Construction Management Team demolishes competition
Students from the Construction Management Team took first place in the Nation Home Builder's Contest in Las Vegas. The project they worked on was worth over $15 million, and it contained 250 pages. Read more.

BYU professors help define "Information Technology"
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) has accepted the curriculum that represents the work of BYU Professors Barry Lunt and Joseph Ekstrom as well as a team of 25 professors from 18 other universities. This marks the first time information technology programs have had a standard to adhere to, and it is expected to change the discipline nationally and internationally. Read more.

Mock construction bid takes place on BYU campus
Construction management students recently competed in a mock construction bid that simulated real world project management as they prepared to construct a multi-million dollar medical center in Southern Utah. Students spent days preparting their presentations, which required them to research cost, engineering & time management. Overall, the industy professionals that judged the event were impressed by the abilities of the BYU construction management students.
School holds Innovation Boot Camp
The School of Technology held it's third Innovation Boot camp on Friday, November 7. The boot camp is an all-day workshop that teaches students that innovation isn’t just a random spark of inspiration, but a creative process that is enhanced by problem-finding and group thinking. BYU wins second straight top industrial design student award

TEE and Industrial Design students win design awards.
Four students were selected to be represented at Design Emphasis '08, a furniture design show sponsored by the International Woodwoorking Fair held in Atlanta, Georgia. Jonathan Cox received a first-place award in design creativity and Brady Cutler won a second-place award in the contract furniture design competion. Read more here.
