TTE Graduate Course Information
The core curriculum for the MS in Technology degree will be common for all students. Three existing classes concentrating on research, critical thinking, philosophical underpinnings, and leadership, along with graduate seminars and a thesis, will encompass the core. The specific core courses are:
TECH 601
Research and Development in Technology (3 cr.)
Research tools as aids in decision making. Research and development strategies and techniques in technology. Literature, logic, survey techniques, research design, statistics and the computer are emphasized. Studies in technology and proposals for graduate research papers are reviewed. Emphasizes preparing proposals for thesis research and organization of first three chapters. To be offered Fall Semester and alternating Summer Term.
TECH 638
Technology Leadership (3 cr.)
Strategic Planning and Policy Development. Theoretical and practical leadership aspects of conceptual and implementation processes. Articulation and team building among various organizations. Ethics and conflict resolution. Developing and implementing solutions to special problems; advanced skills/concepts in traditional and emerging technology areas. To be offered Winter Semester and alternating Summer Term.
TECH 694
Readings and Conferences (2 cr.)
Focus is on reading, interpretation and application of specified topics as possible base for review of literature for thesis research projects. To be offered Winter Semester and alternating Summer Term.
TECH 690
Graduate Seminar - Part 1 (0.5 cr.)
Prerequisite: graduate standing.
Seminar 1 is to be taken the first semester of graduate studies. It’s topics to focus on success strategies in graduate programs and identifying appropriate direction of research and study. To be taught Fall Semester and to alternate Summer Term.
TECH 691
Graduate Seminar - Part 2 (0.5 cr.)
Prerequisite: graduate standing.
Seminar 2 is to be taken the last semester of coursework. It is to focus on thesis preparation. To be taught Winter Semester and to alternate Summer Term.
TECH 699R
Master’s Thesis (1-9 cr., 6 cr. min.)
Prerequisite: departmental consent. To be offered every semester and term.
