Homework submission policies:
1.Homework is to be completed and submitted on time according to the syllabus schedule
a. Late homework will be penalized at 50% for less than a week late, No credit for HW submitted later than a week (except for medical and extreme circumstances)
b.Homework can be submitted at
homework box near the elevator on the forth floor in the
2.Homework is to be done on light green or light brown engineering paper.
3.Heading and footer:
a. At the top left of the page, write the assignment number, and list all problems for that assignment.
b.In the middle, at the top of the page, write the course name (EcEn 301)
c. At the top right, write your name
d. In the bottom right corner write the page numbers in the following format: page current/total pages (ie page 4/6)
4.All answers must show steps of how the answer was arrived at, not just give an answer.
5.All answers and steps must be easily legible. We need to be able to read your work.
6.Include units with every answer; nearly every answer this semester will have units. If the problem requires milli-Amperes give the units as mA. Engineering notation is also accepted (ie 4.67E-3 A = 4.67mA)
7.After showing all work, YOU MUST BOX YOUR FINAL ANSWER FOR THAT PROBLEM WITH THE UNITS INSIDE THE BOX; even if you use arrows, numbers, letters, or symbols, you still must box your final answer. (Some students in the past have used all of the above mentioned methods with variance, but still were very vague as to what their answers actually were, or had multiple arrows, numbers, etc.) This is a very important policy to follow.
8.Staple all pages together. (No tearing pages, paper clips, tacks, rubber bands, etc.) This one is more of a grievous offence and will be penalized more strictly; we as faculty and TAs want you to get all of your points that you earn and not have your pages lost.
9.Write your name on both the inside top right corner, and the outside of the stapled packet of homework submission papers.
10. IF, and only if, steps 1 – 8 are followed for ALL of the problems, an extra 5% will be added to your current assignment score (Max 105%) – AT THE TA’S DISCRESSION.
11. Homework
is to be picked up at ECEN office in the
12. Quizzes are based off of the Homework, be sure to review the homework for quizzes.
These policies are very important to follow; after the first two weeks points can be deducted for excessive neglect. If you have any questions, please see the TAs.
