of Engineering and Technology, Brigham Young
University, Provo, Utah.
Responsible for college research, technology transfer, graduate programs and
information systems.
Aug. 1980 to Aug. 1985 - Associate Profesor of Civil Engineering, College
of Engineering and Technology, Brigham Young
University, Provo, Utah.
Taught undergraduate and graduate courses in
engineering mechanics. Dircted funded research in numerical modeling of
geomechanical events, ground shock, fracture mechanics, continuum mechanics,
CAE/CAD/CAM integration.
Oct. 1971 to Aug 1980 - Member of Technical Staff, Sandia National
Laboratories, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Developed finite element computer
programs that solve fracture mechanics, dynamic parachute inflation, and thick
shell problems. Developed finite element procedures for modeling rock failure
with associated rubble formation and gas driven fracture of rocks. Conducted
geomechanical studies of storage caverns in salt domes. Worked on the
development and application of nonlinear shock wave compuer codes.
