Leadership Committee
Leadership Committee
Report by Doug Welling, Committee Chair
The leadership and mentoring committee has been reviewing the senior dinner and mentoring activity as well as the junior networking luncheon from the 2011 ACET Fall Conference. They are searching out ways to provide more contact for those students who are more “mentor hungry”.
One such opportunity to encourage this is a mentoring session offered through a class at BYU. Two sections of one of the Ira A. Fulton College’s career development classes will be given varying assignments interacting with a mentor in hopes of building relationships and offering future career helps and opportunities.
The committee is also working to find more efficient ways to provide feedback to ACET members throughout the year on what committees and students are doing, as well as how to best incorporate leadership into more committee activities.
Going forward the committee plans to review the case studies provided by the ACET Leadership Committee members for the EngT 231: Foundations of Global Leadership class.
